Our story: the restart
Café het Ginneken has been a household name in Breda for 16 years. The cozy brown pub is home to many associations; on various evenings the clubs play billiards, darts, sing, play poker, meet and play bridge. On Saturday evenings, the café is available for celebrations and parties from 100 people. The mandatory Covid closure hit hard and for a while it looked like Café het Ginneken wouldn't make it. But we didn't give up. The plans for a snack bar with tasty chicken on the spit were put on the table. We managed to get a loan, but that was not enough. Fortunately, help came from all corners of friends, acquaintances, family, the neighborhood... Everyone helped. Really heartwarming!
We also issued vouchers to facilitate the relaunch. Our guests were able to express their support. For example, there were €100 vouchers that could be exchanged for an all-inclusive evening with dinner for two. €500 voucher, ideal for a group that comes to eat or drink and a €1000 voucher is perfect when you have something to celebrate. This will be settled with the invoice of the party.
The vouchers were sold so well that there was enough space for the metamorphosis. The renovation, but also the kitchen and furniture.
We are still very grateful for all the help.
OUR TERRACE GARDEN
Help from an unexpected quarter
After reading our story on Facebook, we received a phone call from the owner of a garden center in Zundert. He said that his business was doing very well, because many people were renovating their gardens during the lockdown. He asked if he could help me with some plants. How special and nice that there are still people who live like this!
And so it happened that the next day he arrived with a bus full of plants to provide our new garden with tasteful and cozy greenery.
We now have the most beautiful garden terrace in the Ginneken!
